In the midst of Caitlyn’s post-collegiate club rugby days, a colleague introduced her to CrossFit, which she used as strength and conditioning for rugby. Eventually, the rugby career ended, and Crossfit filled the void, providing a physical and mental challenge no other sport had given her.
Caitlyn slowly accumulated a few training certificates in addition to watching videos to learn proper techniques and additional tips, and she would help friends train and occasionally write programming for herself and others. In 2013, she started coaching at several boxes in Virginia and discovered more of the excitement and personal growth that coaching brings. Caitlyn felt very welcomed by Pennington CF as an athlete, and she looks forward to giving back and continuing to learn as a coach.
